1913-1993) He was born in the city of Nal'chik.

Mining Engineer. He graduated from Grozny Petroleum Institute, Doctor of Science, Technical. One of the outstanding organizers of the oil and gas industry. Scientist, authoritative expert in the field of geology drilling and oil field development. He started his labor activity as a driller in «Mayneft» Trust (Company) in Neftegorsk. After graduation from the Institute he used to work as head of a crew; tool pusher; exploration superintendent. Technical department manager; turbine motor drilling unit director of "Ishimbayneft" Trust; Manager of "Tuymazyneft" Trust; chief engineer, manager of Trusts "Bashnefterazvedka", "Ishimbayneft"; deputy head of "Bashneft" Amalgamation.

He used to head the Glavgas of the USSR during 1956-57; chairman of Tatar Sovnarkhoz (Council of National Economy) during the period of 1957-60; the first deputy to the chairman of Sovnarkhoz (Council of National Economy) of the Russian Federation in the period of 1960-65. Head of Sredne-Volzhsky Sovnarkhoz (Council of National Economy).

Deputy Minister of Geology of the Russian Federation in 1965-77. After retirement he used to work in scientific research organizations. Shmaryov used to be perceptive of everything advanced and innovative. He used to be an ardent champion for introduction of downhole turbine motor drilling in all oil and gas producing areas of our country. By the end of 70-ties the turbine motor drilling accounted for about 90% of the total volume of drilling in Russia and played a critical part in accelerating development of the oil provinces. The merits of Shmaryov were marked by honoring him with Stalin's and Lenin's Prizes.

Valentin Dmitrievich Shashin
Head of Tatneft Amalgamation during the period of 1956-1960.
(1916- 1977) He was born in the city of Baku. He was a mining petroleum engineer. He finished the Sterlitamak Petroleum College and later he graduated from the Moscow Petroleum Institute. He started his labor career as a turner's trainee. He used to work in the oil fields of Bashkiria for two years and after graduation from the petroleum institute he started to work as a drilling section supervisor in Tuymazyneft Trust (Company). He was appointed as head of Bashzapadnefterazvedka Trust in 1951. In 1957 he got another appointment becoming head of the Tatsovnarkhoz (Council of National Economy). He was appointed as Head of the Main Oil Industry Department of the All-Russian Sovnarkhoz in 1960.

He was appointed to the position of Minister of the Oil Producing Industry in 1965 by the Decree of the Supreme Council Presidium.

Shashin contributed a lot into studying technical experience of foreign oilmen. He was awarded the orders of Lenin and the Red Banner of Labor. He was also awarded the Lenin's Prize for technical upgrading of the industry on the basis of new technical solutions and complex automation providing for rapid growth of crude oil production rates.

The name of Shashin has been assigned to Tatneft Amalgamation, to the streets in Leninogorsk and in Bugulma as well as to a sea-going drilling vessel.

Rafkat Shagimardanovich Mingareyev
Head of Tatneft Amalgamation during the period of 1960-1965.
(1917- 1990). He was born in the village of Davlekanovo (Bashkiria). Mechanical engineer. He finished the Sterlitamak Petroleum College and later he graduated from the Moscow Gubkin Petroleum Institute and completed post graduate studies. He started his labor career in 1941 as a crude oil delivery operator in Kalinneft Trust. Later he used to work as an assistant to a farm boss, then a farm boss, a mechanical engineer, a manager of the construction/erection section in the crude oil production shop Andizhan of Kalinneft Trust in the Uzbek Socialist Republic. After this he was a post-graduate student, Secretary of the Young Communist League Committee, head of the production and technical department, deputy director, chief engineer, director of the Shugurovo crude oil production shop of Tatarneft Trust, director of the crude oil production shop of Bugulmaneft Trust, director of the drilling office of Tatarburneft Trust, managing director of Bavlyneft Trust, head of the Crude Oil Production Department Almetyevneft, chief engineer of Tatneft Amalgamation, chief engineer of the Oil Industry Department of Tatsovnarkhoz (Council of National Economy), Head of Tatneft Amalgamation. Starting 1965 till his retirement he occupied the position of Deputy Minister of the oil producing industry of the USSR.
Rafkat Mingareyev was one of the outstanding leaders of the oil industry in the Soviet Union and one of the originators of the crude oil production in Tatarstan. He was a public scale leader. He is an author of many scientific works and inventions. His merits were marked by numerous honorable distinctions: he was granted the Lenin's Prize, awarded the Orders of Lenin and the Red Banner of Labor as well as Medals.
Agzam Valikhanovich Valikhanov
Agzam Valikhanovich Valikhanov
Head of Tatneft Amalgamation during the period of 1965-1977.
(1927 - 2006). He was born in Babaevo village of the Bashkir Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic. Mining engineer. He graduated from the Ufa Petroleum Institute, completed post graduate studies with the Ufa Scientific Research Institute as well as the in-service of the National Economy Management Institute. Candidate of Science (Engineering), Inventor. After graduation of the Institute he used to work as a tool pusher, area supervisor, senior engineer of NGDU Bugulmaneft, chief engineer and head of the Crude Oil Production Departments Aznakaevskneft and Yelkhovneft. He occupied the position of Deputy Minister of the oil industry of the USSR during 1977-85, and after this he used to work as Director of the All-Union Scientific Research Institute of the oil and gas industry economics.

He is the author of more than 40 scientific works and 17 inventions. His major scientific works are dedicated to improvement of oil and gas production methods and management of the structural divisions operation. The bottom line of his efforts resulted in structural re-organization of Tatneft Amalgamation and transfer from oil production shops with their individual facilities to the specialized regional engineering-technological service basis of the production servicing.

Agzam Valikhanov is a Hero of the Socialist Labor and he was awarded two Orders of Lenin, the Order of the October Revolution as well as the Order of the Great Patriotic War and many medals. He is a winner of the Gubkin Prize and was dignified as a Merited Oilman of Tatarstan and an Honored Oilman of the USSR.

Rishad Timergalievich Bulgakov
Head of Tatneft Amalgamation during the period of 1977-1980.
(1931- 1989). He was born in the city of Ufa. Engineer on exploitation of oil and gas fields. He graduated from the Mining and Petroleum Department of the Moscow Petroleum Institute. Candidate of Science (Engineering). He started his labor career as a remedial well maintenance operator of the Crude Oil Production Department Bugulmaneft, and later he used to work as an oil production unit supervisor, head of the production department of the Crude Oil Department Leninogorskneft. Starting 1963 he use to work as Chief Engineer and Manager of the Crude Oil Production Department Almetyevneft, followed by the positions of director of TatNIPIneft (R&D Institute), chief engineer, deputy head of Tatneft Amalgamation. During the period of 1980-83 he was heading Glavtyumenneftegaz and later was in the position of deputy head of the oil and gas industry department of the Gosplan of the USSR.

He was one of the major leaders of the oil industry in the country. His practical and creative work ensured resolution of challenges faced by the industry at the country-wide scale. Rishad Bulgakov is the initiator of the integrated process automation and establishment of the automated management system in Tatneft Amalgamation. He also initiated improvements in the management system and raising the efficiency of oil production, as well as integrated solutions of the environmental protection issues. Ha was a pioneer of introduction of social planning in the oil industry and started establishment of industrial sociology. He is the author of more than 100 published works and more than 50 inventions in many areas of the industry.

He is a hero of Socialist Labor and an Honorable Oilman of the USSR. He was awarded the Order of Lenin, the Order of the October Revolution, the Honor Badge and various medals.

Aklim Kasimovich Mukhametzyanov
General Director of PO TATNEFT during the period of 1980-1990.
(1930 - 2004). He was born in Timyashevo village of the Tatar Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic (TASSR). Mining engineer. He finished the Bugulma Pedagogical College and later he graduated from the evening department of the Moscow Gubkin Institute of Petrochemical and Gas Industry. He used to work as an assistant operator, operator, technician for oil production registration, production shop foreman assistant, manager of a production transfer unit, senior operator, production shop manager assistant, production shop manager, and head of production transfer of the Karabash tank farm. He used to be manager of auto transport fleet of the Bugulmaneft Crude Oil Production Department. Later he was appointed as chief of a motor vehicle department and Tatsovnarkhoz Trust, deputy head of Alkeevneft Crude Oil Production Department, head of Bavlyneft, Leninogorskneft, Prikamneft Crude Oil Production Departments, manager of North-Western Trunk Pipelines, Head and General Director of Tatneft.

Aklim Mukhametzyanov played a significant role in the development of the oil fields in the Western Siberia. He spared considerable attention to solving social problems. Mukhametzyanov pioneered establishment of the rural subsistence farming in the composition of the industrial enterprises as well as introduction of intensive technologies.

He was awarded the Order of Lenin as well as medals. He was also awarded the titles of Honorary Worker of the Oil and Gas Industry, Honored Oilman of the USSR. He is a laureate of the USSR State Prize.

(1939 – 2007) He was born in Tatarstan. He graduated from the Ufa Petroleum Institute in 1967, specializing as a mining engineer. He was appointed as General Director of JSC TATNEFT in 1990, and he held the position of the Company's Chairman of the Board of Directors from 1994.
The whole labor career of Rinat Galeyev connected with JSC TATNEFT. He used to work in the Company as a production supervisor, a senior oil field engineer, Deputy General Director of Tatneft, Head of NGDU Almetyevneft. He occupied the position of General Director of JSC TATNEFT until June 1999.
Shafagat Fakhrazovich Takhautdinov

He was born on April 23, 1946 in the village of Abdrakhmanovo of Almetyevsk District in the Tatar Autonomous Republic. He finished the Oil College and after this he graduated from the Moscow Petrochemical and Gas Industry Institute named after Gubkin. He started working as an assistant driller in 1965 in the Almetyevsk Drilling Operations Board. Later he used to work as an oil production servicing operator, a well servicing foreman, a workshop manager of the same Board.

1978 - 1985 – Head of the Oil and Gas Production Board Jalilneft and Head of the Oil and gas Production Board Almetyevneft.
1985 – 1990 - First Secretary of Leninogorsk City Committee of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union.
Since 1990 - Chief Engineer-First Deputy General Director of JSC Tatneft.
Doctor of Economics.

Winner of the State prize of the Republic of Tatarstan. Honored Worker of the Oil and Gas Industry of the Russian Federation. Honored Oilman of the Republic of Tatarstan. Honored Worker of the Ministry of Fuel and Energy of the Russian Federation. Winner of the Republican Public Contest "Manager of Year-2004" in the nomination «The Best Manager of the Investment Organization».

Awards: Order of the Red Banner of Labor, Order of Friendship, Medal for Noble Labor. The Order of Honor "Al Fahr" in 2005.He was awarded an Order of Merits for the Country of Degree IV in 2006 for the huge contribution into development of the oil industry and many years of conscientious work.
